Infra-red Absorption in Gallium Phosphide-Gallium Arsenide Alloys II. Absorption in p-type Materia
Infra-red absorption measurements have been made of the spin-orbit splitting of the valence band of p-type alloys of gallium arsenide and gallium phosphide. The splitting in pure gallium phosphide is found by extrapolation to be 0.127 eV compared with the estimate of Ehrenreich, 0.12 eV.
